How do I report my private health insurance to the university?

Since January 2022, the exchange of data between universities and statutory health insurers has been fully electronic, thanks to the new Student Notification Procedure (SMV).

As a MAWISTA private health insurance holder, we cannot participate in this electronic exchange. This means your insurance details cannot be sent directly to your university. Here’s what you need to do instead.

What do you need to do?

  1. Forward your policy documents:
We’ve sent you your insurance documents via email. Please forward these to your university.

  2. Contact a statutory health insurer:
Get in touch with a statutory health insurer of your choice and present your MAWISTA policy documents.

  3. Confirmation to the university:
The statutory health insurer will electronically inform your university that you are privately insured and not subject to statutory health insurance requirements.
